Stewards of the Georgia Coast is a network of donors dedicated to advancing coastal conservation through philanthropy, engagement, and advocacy. Founded in 2013 by Cody Laird, Wendy Paulson, and Roy Richards Jr., the initiative was created to expand awareness of the unique ecological and cultural significance of Georgia’s coast and to inspire greater investment in its protection.
Recognizing the Georgia coast as both a natural treasure and a globally significant ecosystem, Stewards works to connect individuals who share a passion for preserving its landscapes, wildlife, and communities. Through educational gatherings, communications, and collaborative opportunities, the network fosters a deeper understanding of coastal conservation challenges and the critical role philanthropy plays in addressing them.
Stewards of the Georgia Coast operates as a collaborative network supported by volunteer leadership, engaged donors, and the fiscal sponsorship of the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation. Its members contribute by supporting conservation organizations financially, volunteering their time, serving in leadership roles, and advocating for the long-term stewardship of the region.
This fund supports the ongoing efforts of Stewards of the Georgia Coast to grow and strengthen this network, expand awareness, and increase philanthropic investment in conservation initiatives. Contributions help ensure that the natural beauty, ecological integrity, and cultural heritage of the Georgia coast are preserved for future generations.
