100 Women of McIntosh County is a giving circle of women who come together to make a meaningful, collective impact in our community. An extension of Women Encouraging Success (WES), the group was created to strengthen local support by combining individual contributions into significant funding for nonprofits serving McIntosh County. WES began in 2023 as a network of women working to better understand and respond to local needs, and as that effort grew, so did the opportunity to expand from volunteerism into organized, collective giving. With the support and partnership of the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation, 100 Women of McIntosh County was formed to provide a simple, effective way for women to give back.
Members commit to contributing $400 annually, with the option to pay $100 quarterly, and meet four times a year in February, May, August, and November at the Tabby House in Darien. Prior to each meeting, members nominate local nonprofits serving McIntosh County. The top three organizations are invited to present, and members in attendance vote to select the quarterly grant recipient. One hundred percent of all member contributions go directly to local organizations, ensuring that every dollar stays within the community and supports programs making a real difference.
Membership is open to all women who wish to support McIntosh County. Donations are tax deductible, and members may choose to pay annually or quarterly. Each member is connected with a Team Captain who provides reminders, updates, and support throughout the year. Eligible organizations must serve McIntosh County and be a 501(c)(3) in existence for at least one year, although programs of churches, schools, and governmental entities that directly benefit the community may also be considered. Organizations that are not selected may be re-nominated, while grant recipients become eligible again after two years.
100 Women of McIntosh County operates in partnership with the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation, which provides administrative support and ensures efficient processing of donations and grants.
