Grace House of Brunswick is a faith-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry dedicated to supporting women in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Founded in 2009 by Linda Lowe in response to a growing community need, Grace House provides a safe, structured, and supportive environment where women can begin the journey toward sobriety and self-sufficiency.
Located in a historic home in downtown Brunswick, Grace House offers an 11-bed, year-long residential program designed to nurture and guide women as they rebuild their lives. The program is centered on the belief that lasting recovery is achieved through a combination of faith, accountability, and community. Residents are supported through the principles of the 12-step recovery model while also being encouraged to grow spiritually through the teachings of Jesus Christ and the development of meaningful relationships.
Grace House operates as a community built on encouragement, responsibility, and shared commitment. From the moment they enter the program, residents are expected to actively engage in their recovery by attending daily meetings, working with a sponsor, and participating in regular counseling sessions. The program emphasizes the importance of honesty, open-mindedness, and willingness as the foundation for personal transformation.
In addition to recovery support, Grace House places a strong focus on helping women develop independence and life skills. Residents are expected to obtain employment, contribute financially to their stay, and participate in weekly volunteer service, reinforcing both personal responsibility and community engagement. Through structured living, peer accountability, and mentorship, women are equipped with the tools needed to sustain long-term recovery and lead productive, fulfilling lives.
Grace House exists to provide women—regardless of their background or circumstances—with the opportunity to experience healing, build a strong foundation for the future, and discover a renewed sense of purpose.
