The Okefenokee Swamp Park Fund supports the mission of Okefenokee Swamp Park to provide access, education, and conservation opportunities within one of North America’s most significant and ecologically diverse wetlands. Since opening in 1946 at the northern entrance of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, the Park has welcomed visitors from around the world and evolved into a regional leader in environmental education and outdoor recreation.

Located near Waycross, Georgia, and situated within the Dixon Memorial State Forest, Okefenokee Swamp Park offers immersive, nature-based experiences that connect people to the rich history, biodiversity, and natural beauty of the nearly 407,000-acre Okefenokee Swamp. Through interpretive boat tours, boardwalks, train excursions, living history programs, and wildlife encounters, the Park serves as a living classroom that inspires curiosity, stewardship, and a deeper understanding of this unique ecosystem.

In partnership with Okefenokee Adventures, which operates at the refuge’s eastern entrance, visitors are provided with additional opportunities to explore the swamp through guided tours, paddling excursions, and outdoor recreation. Together, these organizations play a vital role in promoting conservation awareness while supporting tourism and economic vitality in the region.

As a nonprofit organization, Okefenokee Swamp Park relies on visitor engagement, donor support, and community partnerships to sustain its work. This fund helps support educational programming, conservation efforts, and ongoing access to the Park, ensuring that future generations can continue to experience and appreciate the natural and cultural significance of the Okefenokee Swamp.

Through contributions to this fund, donors help preserve a treasured natural resource while advancing environmental education, stewardship, and rural prosperity across Coastal Georgia.
