For more than 30 years, Memory Matters Glynn has been a vital source of support for individuals and families in the Golden Isles facing memory loss and dementia-related illnesses. Founded in 1994 as Alzheimer’s of Glynn/Brunswick, the organization expanded its mission in 2016 to serve those affected by all forms of memory loss, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, vascular dementia, traumatic brain injuries, and other related conditions.

Memory Matters Glynn is dedicated to supporting, educating, and enriching the lives of individuals living with memory loss, as well as the caregivers and loved ones who support them. Through a wide range of free programs—including support groups, therapy sessions, and engaging social and enrichment activities—the organization provides comfort, connection, and practical resources during what can be an overwhelming and isolating journey.

Dementia affects not only individuals, but entire families. In Glynn County, where a significant portion of the population is over the age of 65, thousands of residents may be living with memory-related conditions, with many more serving as caregivers. Memory Matters Glynn addresses this critical need by ensuring that all services are provided at no cost, making support accessible to everyone regardless of financial circumstances.

Operating from its welcoming center in Brunswick and extending services to surrounding communities including St. Simons Island and Darien, Memory Matters Glynn offers a safe, compassionate environment where individuals and families can find understanding, guidance, and encouragement. Its work is grounded in the belief that no one should face memory loss alone.

This fund supports the ongoing mission of Memory Matters Glynn, helping sustain and expand programs that improve quality of life, reduce caregiver burden, and foster a sense of community and hope. Contributions directly impact local families, ensuring continued access to essential services and support for those navigating dementia.
