Golden Isles Fund for Trees (GIFT) was established in November 2015 as a component fund of the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation. In 2016, with strong community support, GIFT expanded into an independent nonprofit organization and achieved 501(c)(3) status. In 2024, GIFT renewed its partnership with the Foundation, returning to its roots to strengthen its impact through collaboration.

Through this partnership, GIFT continues to focus its efforts on preserving and expanding the tree canopy across Glynn County, while the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation provides professional stewardship and management of donor funds. This structure allows GIFT to concentrate on its mission-driven work, while ensuring that contributions are efficiently administered and directed toward meaningful projects.

GIFT is dedicated to enhancing the natural environment of the Golden Isles through education, advocacy, and action. Its work supports the planting, maintenance, and replacement of trees, recognizing the important role a healthy tree canopy plays in environmental sustainability, community well-being, and the overall quality of life in Glynn County.

All donations to support this work are made through the GIFT Fund at the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation. Contributions may be made online through the Foundation’s dedicated giving page, or by check payable to the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation with “GIFT Fund” noted in the memo line. Checks may be mailed to P.O. Box 24038, St. Simons Island, GA 31522.

Community support remains essential to GIFT’s continued success. Individuals are encouraged to contribute, suggest programs or projects, or become involved as part of the GIFT Tree Team. Through these combined efforts, GIFT continues to promote the preservation and growth of Glynn County’s tree canopy for generations to come.
