The Marshes of Glynn Libraries Legacy Fund supports book acquisitions and programming needs, ensuring that both the Brunswick-Glynn County Library and the St. Simons Island Public Library remain vibrant centers for knowledge, learning, and community enrichment for generations to come.
Established on July 1, 2013, the Marshes of Glynn Libraries (MOGL) is a single-county library system serving Glynn County, Georgia. Operated as a unit of Glynn County government and governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Glynn County Board of Commissioners, MOGL is also part of the Georgia Public Library Service and a member of the PINES library consortium, providing local patrons access to materials from hundreds of library branches across the state.
While MOGL is a relatively recent system, public library services in Glynn County have a long and rich history, dating back to 1883 in Brunswick and 1934 on St. Simons Island. This legacy reflects a strong tradition of community support, collaboration, and commitment to providing high-quality library services for residents of all ages.
Contributions to the Marshes of Glynn Libraries Legacy Fund help sustain and enhance this important community resource by expanding collections, supporting educational and cultural programming, and ensuring continued access to information and lifelong learning opportunities. Through this fund, donors play a vital role in preserving the library system’s legacy while strengthening its future impact.
