The McIntosh County Industrial Development Authority (MCIDA) was established in April 1968 by resolution of the Georgia General Assembly as a public entity dedicated to promoting economic development within the county. Governed by a seven-member Board of Directors appointed by the McIntosh County Board of Commissioners and the City of Darien, the Authority works to ensure strong collaboration between local leadership and the business community.
MCIDA’s mission is to drive economic growth, support local businesses, and enhance the overall quality of life in Coastal Georgia. This work is carried out with a deep commitment to preserving the county’s unique cultural and natural resources, including its historic character, coastal landscapes, and environmental assets that define McIntosh County.
In partnership with the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation, MCIDA established a Field of Interest Fund to support these goals. The fund is designed to provide financial assistance, including potential loan opportunities, to help businesses start, grow, and expand within McIntosh County. By fostering entrepreneurship and job creation, the fund aims to strengthen the local economy while maintaining the community’s distinct sense of place.
Contributions to this fund support sustainable economic development initiatives that benefit both current residents and future generations, helping ensure a vibrant and resilient McIntosh County.
